Joan Baez was born on January 9, 1941 in Staten Island, New York, and the second of three daughters to Dr. Albert Baez, a physicist, and Joan Bridge Baez. Her mother was English, Scotish, daughter of the Episcopal minister and professor of drama who had migrated to the United States, and her father was of Mexican origin, the son of a minister. I took her father's activities as a researcher, physicist and adviser to UNESCO him to many parts of the country, and spent his childhood Joan for the first time in the small town of Clarence Center, New York, then in Redlands, California. She put her all of the social consciousness and her love for music in the relatively tender age. Pick up guitar, Baez made her debut in the performance of high school talent when she was 14, performing "Honey Love". There began singing for both the high school choir, and herself, and learned to accompany herself on guitar. When her father took a job at MIT After a few years, the family moved to Boston, where for a short period studied drama at Boston University. I went to university, and soon began singing in Boston's colleges and coffee houses and concert halls in the later along the east coast of the large crowds more and more. Then came its popular festival for the first time, Newport 1959. Baez signed with the label and then people who are relatively small, avant-garde, which was released first roles in the Newport folk festival, and released her first album, Joan Baez, in 1960, and the rest, as they say, is history.
